Emirates Conformity Assessment Scheme (ECAS)



Exporters and importers engaged in trade with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) must adhere to the mandates of the UAE Emirates Conformity Assessment Scheme (ECAS) to ensure their goods clear UAE Customs and are eligible for sale in the UAE marketplace.


The ECAS is a Product Certification scheme stipulated by Federal Law 28 of 2001 for government-regulated products. Under this scheme, it's imperative that all regulated products fulfill the safety and quality standards outlined in the Technical Regulations adopted by the UAE government.


Furthermore, suppliers are required to register their products with Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), and obtain a Certificate of Conformity before commencing sales within the UAE.
